Registered attendees for the 2011 Sensors Expo will have unlimited access to world-class suppliers showcasing their sensing products and solutions. In addition to the traditional best-in-class sensing technology providers that support the event, there are over 20 new companies featuring cutting-edge new technologies, including MEMS, Energy Harvesting, Wireless Sensor Networking Solutions and much more. The Sensors Expo Conference will be held Monday, June 6 through Wednesday, June 8 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

“We are proud that for over 25 years the Sensors Expo has been the only industry event in North America exclusively focused on sensors and sensor integrated systems,” said Beth Torrey, event director for Questex Media Group, producers of the Sensors Expo. “With over 125 exhibiting companies to date, this is the must-attend event of the year to see new product launches, evaluate emerging standards, find and compare suppliers and solve design challenges.”

Companies new to Sensors Expo include Silver Sponsor ROHM Co. as well as AM Fitzgerald Associates, Acuity Inc., Aeronix, Inc., Anaren, Inc., Bytewise Measurement Systems, Camgian Microsystems, GTI Spindle Technology, MEM Hitech JSC, MEMS Vision International, Mesh Systems LLC, MicroGen Systems, Micro Sensor Co. Ltd., Nextreme Thermal Solutions, Pioneer Hill Software, Syntronics, TASK Micro Electronics, Tekna Seal and Triad Semiconductor, Inc. Many more companies are being added to the floor plan each week — visit http://www.sensorsmag.com/sensors-expo for a complete list of exhibitors.

According to Yoshihiro Tada, leader of the Sensing Solutions Unit at ROHM’s LSI Development Headquarters, “ROHM is looking forward to being a part of the Sensors Expo and showcasing our wide range of sensor technologies, including Ambient light, Proximity, Hall-effect, Temperature, IR/UV/X-ray, Bio for medical use, Gyroscope, and Accelerometers, to the thousands of attendees seeking the latest sensor technologies.”

The Expo Hall will once again be co-located with the premier embedded event in America — the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Chicago. Additional highlights of the 2011 event include a MEMS Pavilion featuring a MEMS Innovation Area, Energy Harvesting Pavilion, Technology Update Theater and the Best of Sensors Expo Awards presented by Sensors Magazine. The 2011 Sensors Expo Conference will bring together over 4,000 engineers, scientists and industry professionals from around the world to see the latest innovations in sensor technology, learn about the most important sensing trends and network with industry thought leaders.

Silver Sponsors of the event are Epson Electronics America, Inc. and ROHM Co. Sensors Magazine is the official publication and the association sponsors are the International Frequency Sensor Association (IFSA) and MEMS Industry Group. The Expo Hall will be open to all attendees on Tuesday, June 7 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 8 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

In addition to having access to the Expo Hall, attendees can register for the Conference Sessions, which include new tracks on Mobile Sensing and Cutting-Edge Technologies, as well as MEMS, Energy Harvesting, Wireless Sensor Networking, Novel Approaches to Measurement Detection and more. The keynote speaker on Tuesday, June 7 at 9 a.m. will be Dr. Hugh Herr, Biomechatronics Researcher, whose program seeks to advance technologies that promise to accelerate the merging of body and machine. The Pre-Conference Symposia will feature MEMS Commercialization, Power Management and Sensor Selection, and will be held Monday, June 6 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Conference sessions will run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. both days, with keynote presentations starting at 9:00 a.m.
